Steven Kirby is a Division Manager at VERTEX. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He has the Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) license and a Massachusetts Construction Supervisors license (unlimited) and is a certified Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCCPO) for Designers and OPMs.
Mr. Kirby is experienced in Construction Management, Owners Project Management, Surety Claim completion, Construction Defect claim investigation, and Property and Casualty claim investigation. He has provided Owner Project Management services on numerous public works project acting as the Owner’s representative. Services included oversight of the work performed by the project designer and contractors. Recent projects include new construction, historical renovation, addition/renovation, roof replacement, window replacement, and M/E/P/FP building systems replacement on public projects.
Mr. Kirby has provided claims consulting services for property and casualty insurance carriers on numerous claims including hail, snow loading, water infiltration, wind damage, and flooding. Claims involved damage to residential and commercial properties and included, but were not limited to, slate, asphalt shingle, built-up, PVC, EPDM roofs; EIFS; masonry; structural framing; drainage; foundations; siding; and interior finishes.
Mr. Kirby has provided surety consulting services for surety insurance carriers on numerous projects, including schools, subdivisions, public buildings, and subcontractors. Claims involved defaulted or poorly performing contractors, performance bond completion, and payment bond analysis.
