VERTEX served as Owner’s Project Manager for the Town of Hopkinton for their new elementary school project. The new 88,250 GSF two-story elementary school building was for grades Pre-Kindergarten through First Grade. Enrollment was originally estimated at 395 students, however, after a study done by the New England School Development Council, enrollment projected to be 480 students. The School includes 22 classrooms for Kindergarten and First Grade students and four Pre-Kindergarten classrooms along with a gymnasium, kitchen, cafetorium, art, health, music, and specialized classroom spaces. The school is built on a newly acquired forested site with two vehicle drop-offs and parking lots, two playgrounds, and a playfield. The school is targeted for LEED Silver Certification.
