Many of you are familiar with Bill McConnell’s State of the Industry report that he has presented for the past 16 years, focused on the United States economy and the construction market. Given the evolving Canadian surety market and our knowledge of the landscape, we felt it was an opportune time to compile a presentation to address the Canadian construction and surety industries.
Looking back, 2021 will go down as the most unconventional year for the construction industry, with disconnected trends from what was expected to be the start of a recession. While some industries were stopped in their tracks for over 12 months, others have been more than resilient such as the residential sector. In the video below you will find Andrew Zagorski’s first annual Canadian State of the Construction Industry presentation, similar to Bill McConnell’s State of the Industry but with a Canadian focus. The presentation covers Andrew’s evaluation of the Canadian Economy, the Construction Industry, and the Canadian Surety Industry.
