Three-Part Webinar Series

1. Regulatory Landscape for Sterile Processing Departments: AAMI ST108 Compliance.

Date and time: May 13th at 12pm Eastern
Course Description: Water quality is crucial in hospital operations, particularly in the sterile processing of Reusable Medical Equipment (RME), where impurities can jeopardize medical devices and heighten infection risks. This presentation delves into the newly released AAMI/ANSI ST108-2023 standard (Aug 2023), focusing on its role in enhancing water quality standards for sterile processes in healthcare.

2. Regulatory Landscape for Healthcare Infection Aerosol Control Mitigation: ASHRAE 241 Compliance.

Date and time: June 10th at 12pm Eastern
Course Description: The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Epidemic Task Force (ETF) released ASHRAE Standard 241, Control of Infectious Aerosols, in July 2023. This standard sets forth essential requirements for managing infectious aerosols to mitigate disease transmission risks in both new and existing buildings, including major renovations. In this presentation, we delve into ASHRAE 241, exploring its critical components and how it contributes to reducing the spread of diseases. Specifically, we discuss the innovative use of DNA-tagged aerosol tracer particles generated from a water-based aerosol. These particles serve as a valuable tool for simulating the emission, movement, and exposure to infectious aerosols, providing insights into effective control measures.

3. Regulatory Landscape for Pharmacy Sterile Compounding Facilities: USP 797/USP 800 Compliance.

Date and time: July 15th at 12pm Eastern
Course Description: The USP <797> revision officially took effect on November 1, 2023. This presentation provides an in-depth review of the significant changes to the USP <797> guidelines, focusing on key areas such as personal competency training and environmental monitoring requirements. Additionally, the presentation covers USP 800 hazardous drug exposure control measures and the environmental surface testing requirements outlined in the revised standards.
