VERTEX’s subsidiary, Optistar, performed routine offsite collection of electronically stored information (ESI) related to a surety claim. Using a virtual private network (VPN), all available ESI belonging to the contractor (Principal) was collected from the Principal’s on-premise server until the company was taken over by a Receiver. Optistar is currently preserving the ESI using secure, cloud storage.
