Surety Consulting for Concrete Installation, New High School Campus

Vertex was retained by the surety who bonded a concrete subcontractor for a new high school campus development. The concrete subcontractor’s scope included concrete flatwork and foundations for the school building, as well as all site concrete for walkways, bridges, and sports facilities. The subcontractor was terminated after a dispute over costs. Vertex’s scope of services included a review of the termination, review of the remaining scope of work and alleged deficiencies in the installed work, preparation of various cost analyses, analysis of contract and bond terms, monitoring of the completion of the work, and advisement on other matters relative to the performance bond claim.
