Steve Long has more than 30 years of experience, as both an engineer and geologist, on hazardous waste and petroleum assessment and cleanup projects throughout the United States. Mr. Long has been in charge of the design and installation of over one hundred soil and groundwater remediation and gas recovery and treatment systems across the U.S. He has designed and implemented a number of innovative technologies for cleanup of impacted soil and groundwater including in-situ chemical oxidation, biogeochemical reductive dechlorination, bioremediation, steam injection, and other techniques. He has also implemented high-resolution site characterization technologies, such as membrane interface probe, laser-induced fluorescence, modified active soil gas surveys, and other innovative site characterization tools.
Mr. Long is responsible for planning, managing, and conducting environmental investigations, human health and ecological risk assessments, remedial plans and implementation of remedial action. He provides overall technical support, including quality control and review of feasibility studies, assessments, design and engineering construction. Mr. Long has managed environmental engineering groups providing services to commercial, industrial and government clients. This includes implementation of quality assurance programs, preparation of technical design and report preparation standards, auditing of operations, assisting with complex technical projects, and assuring that all PSI projects meet internal quality requirements and client expectations.
