Mr. Mayberry is a Senior Forensic Structural Engineer with The Vertex Companies, LLC who is professionally licensed throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. During his 10 years with The Vertex Companies, LLC, Mr. Mayberry has been involved in over 485 projects that utilized his structural expertise to determine the cause and origin of reported issues, assess reported damage to the structural systems, and provide repair protocols to assist in cost estimation and restoration of the structure. His past projects have involved investigations of residential, commercial, and industrial facilities ranging from collapse of a low-rise steel structure during erection to foundation settlement to storm-related damage. Additionally, Mr. Mayberry has taken on additional responsibilities for The Vertex Companies, LLC in the account management role where he assists with the project intake, selection of the professional with the necessary expertise, budget preparation, and communications with the client.
Mr. Mayberry has led the investigations for numerous projects associated with catastrophic events that have occurred within the U.S. that involved the analysis of induced pressures from extreme wind events and hydrodynamic forces. In addition to his involvement in structural based projects, he has assisted with investigations that involved property condition assessments (PCAs), litigation files, and project/surety cases. During his time with The Vertex Companies, Mr. Mayberry has obtained a professional license as a certified fire and explosion investigator (CFEI), which has been utilized in determining the origin location of structural fires and assessment of the structural framing after a fire event.
Prior to joining The Vertex Companies in 2013, Mr. Mayberry was involved in structural engineering design where his expertise was utilized in projects located throughout the U.S. which required the analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, or wood structural members designed to resist hurricane-force winds, earthquake-induced loads, excessive snow loads, and loads induced by the manufacturing process within industrial facilities. He has led the coordination of architects, contractors, fabricators, and other disciplines to help expedite the design and construction phases of projects and to provide practical and timely solutions to problems if they arose.
