Neptune Fire Protection Engineering is now part of The Vertex Companies, LLC to provide you with a deeper bench of experts and services that you have come to expect.

Neptune Fire Protection Engineering

VERTEX’s wholly owned subsidiary, Neptune Fire Protection Engineering LLC, offers a wide range of specialized services to address the requirements of our clients’ fire protection engineering and consulting needs. Our knowledgeable staff of fire protection engineers are experienced in providing fire protection solutions for a variety of client sectors including industrial, oil and gas, commercial, governmental, medical, residential, and many others. Our team is dedicated to providing the most effective, sustainable, and cost efficient solution for every project.

As an independent consulting company, we have no affiliation with equipment and material manufacturers. This allows us to provide our clients with an independent, unbiased approach to each project.

Our services include fire protection and life safety systems design, performance based design, hydraulic analysis, code consulting, audits and surveys, special inspections, hazard identification, third party review, client liaison/negotiation services, and inspection and testing services.

SERVICES PROVIDED

  • Firewater Systems Design – design of firewater networks, fire sprinkler and other water based suppression systems, as well as water supply solutions including fire pump and firewater storage tank sizing and specification if necessary.
  • Special Hazard Fire Suppression Systems Design – design of clean agent systems, foam systems, and other special hazard systems.
  • Fire Alarm and Detection Systems Design – design of fire alarm, mass notification and evacuation, and flame and gas detection systems.
  • Performance Based Design – fire protection systems design based on performance where code based systems are impractical.
  • Hydraulic Analysis – testing and review of existing system performance to determine the hydraulic capabilities of an existing system.
  • Code Consulting – review of applicable building and fire codes to determine specific client requirements or to confirm that existing systems meet code requirements.
  • Audits and Surveys – evaluation of existing systems to confirm adequate protection and determine “gaps” (GAP analysis).
  • Hazard Identification – properly identifying and understanding hazards to develop cost effective and practical solutions to protect them.
  • Third Party Reviews – independent expert review of designs or analyses of complex systems for authorities having jurisdiction or end-users.
  • Client Liaison / Negotiation Services – represent client interests with authority having jurisdiction and insurance companies to clarify and interpret specific requirements and design philosophies.

Neptune Team now at VERTEX

Providing The Highest Quality Fire Protection Engineering Services

Neptune Fire Protection Engineering LLC was founded in 2005 to satisfy a need for specialized engineering expertise in the field of fire protection. Neptune was acquired by The Vertex Companies, Inc. in 2022 to expand our geographic reach and add to our bench of engineers and experts. For all industries and clients, including heavy industry, manufacturers, architects, contractors, developers, fire marshals, and other design professionals, our mission is to provide the highest quality fire protection consulting services possible, beginning with conceptual design and ending with the successful construction and commissioning of each system we design. On every project, we focus on finding the optimum design of fire protection systems, which is the one that is safe, meets the code, is practical and “constructible”, protects the interest of the owner, and minimizes cost.

To provide the best services, Neptune maintains a knowledgeable staff and places high priority on continuing education. Our staff have completed specialized training for many of the services we provide, as well as field training, such as industrial firefighting, to better understand the needs of first responders. This knowledge provides Neptune with the insight to develop systems better designed to protect not only the site and equipment, but also to provide an added safety factor.

Our design services range from engineering level performance specifications to preparing detailed shop drawings for a variety of fire protection systems. Neptune specializes in systems design, risk management and loss prevention, process safety consulting, process hazards analysis (PHA) and hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies, incident investigations, hazard modeling, LNG protection, radiant heat and gas dispersion modeling, blast analysis, fire hazard assessments, environmental compliance, emergency response plan review and development, third party reviews, as well as commissioning and startup services.
