Brian R. Horner is a licensed Professional Engineer with over fifteen years of forensic experience that includes analysis of structural, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of commercial, multifamily, and single-family residential structures. Mr. Horner utilizes his years of experience as well as his knowledge of various building and development codes to provide consulting services and litigation support. As an Engineer, Mr. Horner advises clients such as attorneys and claims professionals.
Mr. Horner has a diverse background with experience in multiple engineering disciplines. His expertise has been used on surety bond claim investigations, residential and commercial property inspections and he has been named as a testifying expert witness for site-civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction defect files.
Previous experience includes preparation of cause and origin reports for structural failures, roofing failures, stucco and wall system failures, moisture intrusion through wall systems, fenestrations and roof systems, and plumbing failures. Mr. Horner has also been responsible for the preparation of environmental and engineering assessments for commercial and multifamily residential properties. He has prepared designs for foundation repair systems, including underpinning, pressure grouting, and chemical permeation grouting. Additional design work included residential mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Mr. Horner also prepared concrete repair specifications and performed field inspection services. Additional inspection services included conducting 40/10 Year Recertification Inspections in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
