Misael Rojas, who serves as a Senior Forensic Architect for the Forensic division of VERTEX, has over 18 years of professional experience in the forensic, construction, architectural design, and building envelope industry. Misael has been a leader in the architecture, construction, and building envelope field, working on projects ranging from high-rise towers in New York City to international multi-million dollar projects.
He has directed full-discipline project teams in property loss forensic investigations domestically as well as overseas. These investigations, which include large fire and water damage losses, have yielded results that were crucial in assisting his clients in settling claims with positive results. Misael’s in-depth knowledge of both the forensic investigation and construction of building envelopes enables him to develop detailed solutions with clients, as well as effectively collaborating with contractors during the construction or remediation process. He has established project plans, directed team meetings, site visitation overviews, standards review, and submittal process overview on over 65+ projects. He has also created firm-wide documentation standards to increase project team efficiencies and decreased liabilities. Specializing in waterproofing, roofing, masonry, and glass assemblies, he has successfully contributed to numerous projects nationally as well as internationally.
He has worked on projects throughout the US involving the investigation of water infiltration issues relating to various exterior wall and roofing types, windows, window walls, curtain walls, doors, expansion joints, sealant joints, balconies, and plaza decks. Also performed were cladding analysis for water ingress as well as fire performance. Project types involved range from commercial, institutional, multi-family & single-family residential as well as mixed-use projects. Misael’s experience includes below-grade foundation waterproofing design and installation projects where QAQC during construction and installation is required.
